In our day-to-day activities, storing water in tanks is a technology that has helped man in storing water for future use. This use includes farming, manufacturing products, drinking water, and irrigation. Getting to know what to choose depends on the use as different tanks have different capacities and are made differently.

    The Different Types of Tanks

    Fiberglass Tanks

These types of tanks are mainly considered especially when trying to save on space. They are mainly used underground and have a non-corrosive material that is fiberglass. Most commercial industries use them either holding wastewater, potable water, and stormwater as they allow storage of large amounts. They do not degrade or corrode easily due to their nature.

    Pillow Tanks

As the name suggests, so is their shape as they do look like pillows. They are easy to store as they collapse flat and easy, and you can fold them. They are known to be more affordable than other tanks and portable, holding a lot of water to about 20,000 gallons. This gives you abundant supply wherever you go. You are also able to customize them according to your needs and they are also easy to set up.

    Bottled Steel Tanks

These are the best tanks when you want millions of gallons of storage and usage of almost up to 5,000,000. For many years they have been used in manufacturing and commercial industries. They are also known as Carbon Bolted Steel Tanks, fabricated with powder-coated steel panels. An interior coating that is also found in them makes them suitable for chemicals, wastewater, and petroleum products.

    Polythene Tanks

They are plastic in nature and found in small sizes that you can move. They are mainly used when considering water storage for your home. The dark colorthat is found on the water tank protects it from the sun’s heat andalgae forming. When checking on yourbudget, they are worth looking at. They also do not rust or crack and are made to withstand different conditions depending on their use.

    Corrugated Steel Tanks

They come in different sizes depending on what or where you would like to use them. They can be built to hold up to 4,000,000 gallons. They are beneficial for irrigation, fire, and stormwater purposes. Compared to concrete tanks they last for long because of their mechanism. Due to their lightweight, they are easy to install and assemble on site.

    Reinforced Concrete Tanks

They are used for wastewater in treatment plants and for industrial purposes. They can also be reinforced using steel with their design based on IS 3370:2009(Parts I-IV). They are classified from Conical bottom types, Polygon type, Square, Rectangular, and Spherical. As a result of how they are made and the reinforcement, they may last about 60 years due to their durability.

    What are the Benefits?

    No Water Bills

Having no bills to pay is music to the ears. Collecting rainwater is free and its nature’s gift to us. Harvesting rainwater reduces your headache of having water bills to almost no water bills. The water can be used in our household and for farming.

The Supply of Water is controlled

At times there may be periods of drought and by storing water in tanks you are able to control the supply. You are also able to supplement in cases where you have a problem with your service provider. Controlling usage also helps you in avoiding wastage.

    Reduces flooding

In places where there is very heavy rain, this helps. By having a storage tank and collecting the rainwater it is then purified which makes it safe for drinking. It can also be used for irrigation purposes by it being directed for farming.

    Conclusion

Water is important to our daily lives and living without it is next to impossible. A simple thing as not throwing away that juice bottle means you can collect water for storage for future use and save you some money. Think about it. For more, check https://watertankskenya.com
