Scaffolding Ukraine has long-established itself as a mandatory and indispensable attribute on any construction site. Without them, it is difficult to imagine any large-scale facade work.
By themselves, Ukrainian scaffolding is a frame structure, which is assembled from individual elements.
It is just at this stage that difficulties begin to arise, especially for people who have not dealt with construction equipment before.
Looking at a whole pile of individual elements, you might think that assembling scaffolding will take a very long time. Not really. To properly assemble frame scaffolding, it is enough to follow simple instructions and follow certain rules.
What are the stages of the installation of scaffolding
Before proceeding directly to the assembly of the structure, you need to go through the preparatory stage:
- acceptance of a set of frame scaffolding, inspection and check for damage and defective elements;
- site preparation for installation. The place for installation must be cleaned of debris, excess water and well compacted. It is also important to ensure the drainage of rainwater. And most importantly, the site should be as horizontal and even as possible in the transverse and longitudinal direction.
The preparatory stage has been completed, you can proceed to the installation itself.
- At the first stage, wooden linings, shoes and screw supports are placed on a previously prepared site, if necessary. When installing these elements, it is important to remember that they must be strictly horizontal.
- The second stage involves the installation of a frame with a walk-through and a frame with a staircase of the first tier. The frame is inserted into shoes or screw supports. For stability, the frames are interconnected by horizontals and diagonals. Frame installation step – every 3 meters. Such simple manipulations are repeated until you reach the required length of the frame scaffolding.
- With the first tiers finished, we move on to building up the next tiers. According to the technique, the installation of the second tier is not much different from the first. We install the frames and connect them with horizontal and diagonal ties. It is important to take into account the fact that the diagonal must be positioned in such a way that they are staggered throughout the scaffolding structure.
- Similarly, you increase as many tiers in height as necessary to complete the work.
- In order for workers to work freely, a crossbar is needed, in the amount of 2 pieces per section. And wooden flooring is laid on the crossbars, along which workers move.
- Also, to move between tiers, it is necessary to install special inclined stairs. They are placed in those places where hatches are provided in the flooring.
Properly assembling the frame is far from all that needs to be done when installing scaffolding. Since scaffolding is not a freestanding structure, it is important to take care of fixing it to the wall of the building. In places where scaffolding will be attached to the wall, anchor rings are installed. The scaffolding itself is fastened with the help of hooks through clamps, which are located on the scaffolding frames.
You need to install fasteners with a maximum step of 4 meters and in a checkerboard pattern. If the flooring is subject to heavy loads or work is carried out in a windy area, the number of fasteners is doubled.
Also, when installing scaffolding, you need to follow a few rules:
- when you install scaffolding tiers, at the same time they should be fastened to the wall;
- it is also necessary to lay the flooring and install the fence connections at the same time;
- dismantling of scaffolding is carried out only after all tools and materials have been removed from the decking. The dismantling itself is carried out in the reverse order to the installation.
Rules of work and safety when working on scaffolding
To work safely and productively on scaffolding, you should follow the rules of labor protection:
- ascent and descent between tiers is allowed only by stairs located inside each section;
- the total load on the flooring, which is indicated in the forest passport, must not be exceeded;
- the metal structure of the frame scaffolding can only be operated if grounding is available;
- every 10 days, the structure must be checked for damage and compliance with general safety requirements.
