The search engine is the only way you can get to the users. The search engine does the searching for you and that has helped the internet community a lot.
I am still learning and I am not here to make any excuse on behalf of Google as they are the ultimate authority. Google needs to solve some basic problems that Google users face and hope that they have the sensitivity to make some changes.
Social media sites
We are losing some market share to social media sites (appreciate the reference). Please note that they are not search engines but social media sites. Yes, they play a role in helping you find relevant sites for your searches but I will not blame them for their popularity. Social media sites have a lot of advantages and Google has given them the power to promote your brand or business. Let’s talk about the players and why you should not give them a chance.
I am sure you are familiar with Facebook. You need to make your Facebook profile more prominent. It will do that automatically when you post new updates on your profile. So go ahead and post some content. If you are on WhatsApp, do the same. Make your page interesting. The best marketing campaigns have stories behind them. You are using all the free tools that Facebook is giving you, use them. Do not do anything that is not beneficial for your business. And please delete the stuff you do not need. For example, you do not need to have Facebook page. You don’t need to have “community” account. You do not need to have verified your account.
Why would you want to bother about all those things? So much work for what? Is it really worth it?
I know you have your pride. Well, please let it go. Put it in a shoebox and forget about it. Get your foot into the door and then you will start feeling the rush of traffic and you will be addicted to it. You do not need this. You are in it for a longer term. Get your Twitter account. Start adding some of your favorite links to your Twitter profile. Once you get the traffic to your Twitter profile, you will get the most active memberships. You will not even know that you are getting active memberships to your Twitter profile. People will just keep coming to your profile to see your latest updates.
